The Summit is an opportunity for young filmmakers from middle school through graduate programs across the Mid-Atlantic to come together, get to know each other, share information and participate in MdFF. The Summit will consist of filmmaking workshops, ask-me-anything sessions with visiting filmmakers, equipment demonstrations, meet-ups, tabling and unstructured time for informal networking.

There are a few different ways to participate as a partnered educator:
  • Build the festival into your syllabus or class time and bring your students to see films at the festival! We will feature student film showcase programs on April 8. Other student work will be featured in programs throughout the Festival.
  • Bring students to our free Student Films for Students shorts program on Wednesday, April 8 at 3:30pm
  • Have your students participate in the Student Film Summit on Friday, April 10 from 9am-noon.
  • Invite your students to submit their films to the festival! Our Late Deadline is Feb 1 and the Extended Deadline is Feb 13.
  • Bring your students to experience CineTech, our showcase of cinematic emerging media like narrative video games, virtual reality and interactive film.
  • Collaborate with us on planning the events for the Summit (contact KJ@snfparkway.org).
  • Spread the word! We would love to expand our reach to folks with whom we might not already be in touch.
